Turning made easier at Eden Drive intersection

September 11, 2019

Works will start later this month on the $1 million safety upgrade at Eatons Crossing Road and Eden Drive intersection, Eatons Hill.

Member for Pine Rivers Nikki Boyd said the project would boost safety and address crash incidents occurring at this intersection.

“It’s part of the Palaszczuk Government’s $3.13 billion roads and transport commitment for the region,” Ms Boyd said.

Several crashes have been recorded at this intersection over previous years, generally involving motorists turning in and out of Eden Drive.

The upgrade will include new left and right-turn lanes on Eatons Crossing Road for motorists turning into Eden Drive.

“These works will increase overall safety at this intersection while minimising disruption to traffic continuing on Eatons Crossing Road.”

Other works to be undertaken also include installing new safety barriers and improving drainage, signs and line marking.

“Eatons Crossing Road is an important link not only for Eatons Hill locals, but also residents throughout the hinterland, from Samford in the south to Dayboro in the north.

“These works will significantly improve this busy stretch of road at Eden Drive.”

Construction is scheduled to start in late September.

The works will take about three months to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting.
