Works to improve safety at the intersection of Eaton’s Crossing Road and Bunya Road have started.
Member for Pine Rivers Nikki Boyd said community safety was the key driver behind the $387,000 project.
“This important safety project is being delivered under the Queensland Government’s Safer Roads Sooner program,” Ms Boyd said.
“The project will deliver a dedicated right-turn lane, which will remove the need for eastbound motorists to stop behind vehicles turning right into Bunya Road and reduce the likelihood of rear-end crashes.”
Works are expected to take about six weeks to complete, weather permitting.
“For the safety of road workers and motorists, changed traffic conditions including reduced speed limits and lane closures are required while works are being carried out,” Ms Boyd said.
“I thank the community for their patience while these important safety improvements are being delivered.”
